The Floris PTA has been planning for another successful Spelling Bee program for the 2025-2026 school year, and is proud to offer students an opportunity to exhibit their proficiency in the arts of spelling and vocabulary. The school Spelling Bee Champion will have the opportunity to advance to the Fairfax county regional competition.  The regional winner will advance to the Scripps National Spelling Bee representing Fairfax County.

The Floris Elementary Spelling Bee will be held in two rounds:

  • Preliminary Round: Thursday, February 12th in the Floris cafeteria.

  • Finalists Round: Thursday, February 26th in the Floris cafeteria.

We plan on running a weekly Spelling Club starting January 2026. The first 30 minutes will be for K-3 participants and the latter half of the session will be focused on Grades 4th-6th. This club will be hosted by Floris Alumni and Fairfax County past champions - Ankita Balaji & Akshita Balaji. Participation in the spelling club is optional.
