Science Fair

The Science Fair provides the opportunity for Floris’ budding scientists to pursue research that is interesting to them, make hypotheses, test them, analyze data and generally grow their familiarity with, and skills for using the scientific method.

Download the Science Fair Planning Guide here.
(Students may pick up a printed copy of the Planning Guide at the front office)

We are at capacity and registration is now closed.

General Information:

  • All Floris students (K-6) are invited to participate.

  • The Science Fair will take place on March 26 at 6:30-7:30 PM in the Floris Cafeteria and Gym. Project/presentation set-up will begin at 6 PM.

  • Students are required to participate in groups of 2 or more.

  • This is a voluntary home-based activity overseen by a parent/coach.

  • This is a participative event (not a competition) with the purpose of educating the kids about the scientific method and the mechanics of what it is like to participate in a Science Fair. There will be volunteers providing feedback to each science fair project/presentation.

  • Teams can use anything to present their scientific findings (poster board, PowerPoint
presentation, or simply talking), but will need to supply all of their own presentation materials.

  • Presentations are suggested to range between 2 - 5 minutes in length.

  • All work presented must be the students’ work.

  • Most importantly, remember to have fun!
